Come to the Dark Side!

A new blog challenge I'm trying out, and it's sponsored by
Gina K Designs!!!

DEADLINE: Tuesday, June 12, 2018

A $20 gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store.

WHAT IS THE DARK SIDE?

Come to the Dark Side – The challenge this week is to color an image on dark card stock! You can use black, dark brown, or any other dark color, and then use colored pencils or other color mediums such as chalk so that your image will show up. You could also use bleach to lighten the image and then color it with markers. Watch a video Gina did showing this technique HERE. You MUST use dark card stock for your background or your entry will be eliminated so that the numbers will not be skewed for the random drawing.

I started with stamping out some flowers much like
Gina K did in the video (above) and instead of using the colored pencil method, I used...
GUESS WHAT?
Yep, Tim Holtz Oxide Inks!!

I used a water brush, but no water and dipped it directly onto the ink pads and then onto the paper. Be careful not to touch the shiny gold embossing, because this chalky ink will take away the gold's shine!

I double matted like Gina, and then added a few white spots to the floral to pop out that white border and pull the card together.

If you enjoyed this fabulous technique,
stay tuned!
I'll be featuring it on the JEN EVERS Youtube channel
in the upcoming weeks.

See you next post,
you rock!
