Sketch Challenge by My Favorite Things!

Hey fantastic crafters!

Today's challenge is a sketch (below) and it's from

I got out my fancy schmancy mica/water spray mist and
SMOOSHED the colors onto the stamped images.
They were punched at 1.5 in. squares.

The floral pieces were die cut on my GEMINI! and then hand inked with the inksentials tool and a piece of felt.

(I'm always asked what the stuff is in my inks. If you cut felt into small rectangles, you can store them inside the ink and be ready to go instantly every time!)
I glued the flowers together and added a pearl, then stamped the sentiment.

It didn't look quite finished so I added a little heart to the middle of the sentiment!

Here's a cool angle photo so you can see how deliciously raised the flowers are.

And the adorable little
heart!

A final look at the entire card.
I'm super happy with this sketch challenge card!

Shortest blog evers!

Hey Crafters!

Color challenges are great because we tend to use the colors we are drawn to over and over again.  This one uses four colors that I rarely use. I don't have MFT inks, so I subbed in:

Fossilized Amber
Squeezed Lemon
Abandoned Coral
and
Antique Linen

Short blog today, like me! Har har!

You're my best squeeze!

Hey Crafters!
Orange you glad for another challenge?!

This one is from SIMON SAYS STAMP!
(Monday Challenge)

Simon Says: Summer Fun!

Create a summer fun card, whatever that means to you and enter to

I used the "SMOOSH" technique, which is one of my go-to and absolute FAVORITEST technique EVER!

Next, I loaded up my acrylic block with distress ink and added some water so I could paint in the parts I wanted darker!

A supa fun orange/ lemon stamp and the idea just fell outta the sky like  SKITTLES! LOL

I gave it a little dimension with double-sided foam tape.

Orange you glad you're the best blog-followers EVER?!

Thankzzzz!

Hey Crafters!

 is having a challenge!

Challenge 537 - Anything Goes!

(Short notice, you only have like a day to get in on this one, so fast feet!)

Versafine Onyx Black Ink is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ink
for getting crisp, clear, detailed stamped images!

You can see the crystal clear little wings and detail on these fabulous bees!

I've had these little stamps in my stash and decided to put them on the side until an idea came to me to use them.

(Yellow and black isn't a color combo I typically grab for. How about you?)

I also used the same Tim Holtz die set that I used in the last post!

Here's a full look at the card. The sequins always give a card a POP of fun, don't they?

Comment below if you use sequins in your card making!

See you next post pumpkin!

Color LOVE

Hey Crafters!

My Favorite Things is having a COLOR challenge!

I did my best to follow the color palette using the inks I had.

(I'll give you one guess which inks I used!)

(Oh yes! Distress Oxides! LOL)

Too cute, right?! He's a little beaver stamp from:
Darcie's heart and home.

I colored this adorable guy with water-based markers, alcohol-based markers, and a little oxide ink.

LOVE the background? You can totally get that DIE!

(A die? What? Yep! I flipped over my die and used it as a stencil to get that fab background and you can do it too!)

See you next post!

Guess Who?

Hey Crafters!
How about a sketch challenge.
Yes, you say? Well, let's hop to it!

I'll add the sketch in here, but click on the link
above to find the rules and the linky so you can
post your challenge card too!

(I mean, you're doing one right? You're not the type to just leave me hanging out here in the breeze here. Naw, you're not like that. That's how I know I like you. You're an excellent oyster. I think I meant to say pearl.)

Enjoy the process prince/princess! Art is freedom!

(Guess who loves you baby!)

Super cute sketch this week at My Favorite Things!
I just can't get enough of the JOY of creating cards. I do think that it's a super great way to relax and find happiness!

A Kitty Christmas

Hey Crafters!

I didn't have a Christmas picture of me so I went with the
"COOL KOALA" look!

I certainly have a COOL Challenge for you today!!

OOh I lied.
(Ok, I didn't EXACTLY lie. I did find a Christmas picture of me, I just really liked the first one and I'm a little bit
vain. There. I said it. Here's the Christmas one anyway though!)

Hope my sister doesn't kill me.
Bah!! She doesn't even read my blog!

Alrighty, well Christmas in July is in gear and the AAA cards challenge has the vibe!
Don't forget THEIR CHALLENGE IS CAS!!

CAS = Clean and Simple

Step one: I stamped the cat and overlayed the hat.

Step Two: I used my cross and a piece of acetate to place the solid wood stamp in the correct place.
(Yes, there is such as thing called the
Thing-a-ma-jig, mine just happens to be DIY and only cost me a dollar!)

Step Three: Next, I used a Signo White Uniball gel pen to cover up the line from where it overlapped the kitty.
(I rock that pen just like an eraser, you MUST have one if you stamp a lot!)

I finished it off by adding a sentiment and also water coloring the kitty with Ink Oxides.

(Yes, still addicted. Don't judge. lol I see all that candy you have stashed in your crafty room. Oh wait, that's me too. Dang! I'll have to try to stop being so transparent!)

My final card, it's CAS and Christmas.
Perfect.

If you're enjoying the inspiration, humor and challenges on my blog, won't you consider following?

Birthday in Layers!

Hey Crafters!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

(Of course, for most of us, it's not our birthday, but... we always have a need for this type of card in our stash, don't we?!)

#253-Birthday Wishes-AMB Illustrations

Closes Wednesday, July 11, 2018

Let's make a birthday card!!!

(Ahhh! I could just pull my hair out! I forgot, again, to take pictures of my process! Someone needs to be standing in my craft room with a camera and follow me around snapping pics. Who's interested?!)

Someday I'll get some brains to go with this spectacular head I have! LOL

Here's my CARD!

I used a bunch of new dies I had to create this very layered card!

The little cupcake was a duo dollar store stamp.
(Don't discount the use of really small or cheap stamps! They can be colored, dolled up and added to cards to add flair!)

To get the very glittery effect, I used an embossing powder called Iridescent Ice!
Totally easy to use and fast to dry so you don't have to wait for your stickles to dry if you're in a hurry!

(I added a teeny tiny birthday stamp, stripes on the camera and a few other fine details, just to impress you jellyfish! I know if you look close, you'll find them all!)
